As talks with the Ladinian Empire progress, Arcadian membership in the International Council has been set on the Agenda in La Maison des Nations. The Senate will be tasked with debating and ratifying the charter when it is presented to the Commonwealth during the talks. This is what Robert hopes when he signs the credentials of the Arcadian Diplomat sent to the International Council.

Lucas gavels thrice.

"The Senate will now consider the government's advise that the Commonwealth of Arcadia should join the Virtual Socialist International, seated in Tir Na nÒg."

When the President arrives at the Executive Palace, a guard of honor is already waiting for him. The guard consists of the Arcadian Coast Guard, the Imperial Arcadian Mounted Police, and the Crabtree City Constabulary.

The Commander of the Guard, this time the IAMP is in charge, draws her sword:

"Honor Guard! Presidential salute, president arms!"

Everyone follows her order. She walks to the platform, where the President has taken his place.

"On behalf of the Arcadian Coast Guard, the Imperial Arcadian Mounted Police and the Crabtree City Constabulary I welcome you to your new home, Mister President."

The President nods, smiling.  "Thank you, Commander."

She returns to her original position and the band plays the presidential salute. The arms are returned to their original position.

Due to the President's double position, because he's also the Lord Protector of the Commonwealth, a second welcoming salute is necessary:

"Honor Guard! Imperial salute, present arms!" The guard presents their arms again, but the commander remains at her post for the Lord Protector's imperial salute.

The guard shoulders arms, then stands at ease, while the Commander returns to the platform, where the President joins her on her way to the police guard.

After greeting all the officers of the constabulary, the commander orders: "Honor Guard, shoulder arms!"

After that, the President inspects the honor guards of the Coast Guard and the IAMP. Greeting all officers and seamen personally, before returning to the platform with the commander.

She returns to her post and gets the honor guard ready to march past the platform, the band plays Bravura and the honor guard gets on its way, leaving the President to greet his new staff and to get to work.

The general debate is equal to the "morning business" of similar deliberative assemblies; it serves the general purpose of being an open space for messages to the Senate and introducing off-topic statements and announcements.

Lucas nimmt auf seinem Sitz Platz, er nimmt den Hammer des Vorsitzenden und schlägt drei mal auf den Klangblock.

"The Senate is called to order!"

Die Mitglieder nehmen ihre Plätze ein, es vergeht ein Moment, bis Ruhe eingekehrt ist. Die Administratorin des Senates an der Tür tritt vor. Es folgt ein Schlag auf den Klangblock.

"Mr. President! The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court!" Lucas nickt und die Senatoren erheben sich applaudierend.

Eskortiert von der Administratorin des Senates und zwei Saaldienern betritt die Chief Justice die Senatskammer und wird zum Redepult geführt.

Der Applaus klingt nur langsam ab. Drei weitere Schläge auf den Klangblock lassen den Beifall leicht abklingen.

"Senators I have the high privilege and honor to present to you the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court." Es folgen erneut Standing Ovations, diesmal jedoch kürzer.
